Tuesday, October 24, 6:30 p.m.
at Sherith Israel, 2266 California St.

Faith in Action communities show up for each other in many ways, through organizing, political action, and our Rapid Response Network. Come find out about the Solidarity Teams we're building, and learn how you can accompany those facing deportation. The teams, along with lawyers, go to deportation hearings, immigration check-ins, and court. They accompany immigrants resisting unfair bosses or landlords. They pray, talk, break bread, share stories and reflect together on strategy, building relationships through shared experience.

Each second Sunday of the month a team from St. James helps prepare a nutritious meal for several hundred people at St. Martin de Porres. We could really use some extra helpers. To volunteer, or if you have any questions, please contact Charles Neal or the church office.

Sundays, 5:30 p.m. Please join us as we sit for 20 minutes of silent meditation. Find a quiet space to end your weekend. Take a break from the busyness of your life. Feel the power of meditating with a group. All are welcome. We gather quietly in the sanctuary at 5:30 p.m. and prepare for our meditation together. One-on-one instruction for beginning meditators is available. At 5:45 p.m. we commence 20 minutes of silence. Our intent is that the silence will serve to open our hearts to the Divine and each other, in love and peace, justice and human dignity. Please join us.
